Friends,anybody?

Can I ask you a question
It's something that I don't usually mention
But it's becoming too sore
I need to let go, I can't take this anymore

Do true friends really exist
For I can't find any in my midst
Those who care are far, far away
Those who don't are just a stone's throw away

Friends, so they say
Then why wouldn't they say okay
When I needed a little support
Instead, they left me alone to rot

Is it a crime to walk alone
People who don't know me see as sad
I don't care as long as I'm fine on my own
After months of doing it, it's not all that bad

I used to have a few close friends
I miss those days, those endless plans
From homework to fashion
And not to forget heart-to-heart conversation

Even after knowing each other for years
Are we to be merely peers
And nothing more?
What about mates whom I could roar with laughter and cry out to when my heart tore?

I'd always reminisce the memory
All the happy times are now history
In future, would they do the same
Or would they forget even my name

If there is something that I lack
Fat chance, I won't get the sack
Coz the world won't cut me some slack
They're laughing behind my back

I have lost faith in the human race
Maybe I just can't keep up with its pace
But I find it too fake
If I were to go along for appearance's sake.
