i went to church yesterday night for the sunday service coz' the saturday and sunday service
have been combined for 2 weeks
and last night's service was awesome
the new speaker who's from Ipoh but works in New York, he was good
he made the sermon interesting
i really liked it
but what was most important is about the message right?
God's word and not just about the speakers
james 1:1
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations :
Greetings.
1.the pastor stressed the point that James, Jesus' brother is a SERVANT of his own brother, which
is Jesus.
a servant is a BORN SLAVE.
you serve your master your whole life and you won't have the chance to be a free man
then he asked siblings in the church to raise up our hands
so yeah me and my brother raised our hands and we got a really SIMPLE question
pastor:"Are you willing to be your brother's servant?"
me: *shakes head vigorously* i don't need even a second to answer that question..haha
then he asked us to say to our brothers and sisters one really HARD sentence
"look into each other's eye and say 'I am your servant' "
omg,i giggled so hard when i told that my bro i could barely finish the sentence
it was outright difficult for me to say that because i know i won't be able to keep it
but James declared himself a servant of Jesus
the pastor said, when he have problems serving others,we should seek the Lord
solve it with God first and then with man
2. to the 12 tribes scattered among the nations
the 12 tribes refer to the Jews (Christians)
God has spread us out, scattered us into different parts of this world to grow new life, new hope
and to save new people
it was a difficult times for the Jews that time that have to be separated
just like us
but think,if all Christians are in the same place then what about the rest of the world who have
not come to know the Lord?
then they will never ever know him
so God has a mission for us
that is to spread the Gospel so that our loved ones can be saved too
he is not selfish
he wants all his children to be saved
and enjoy eternal life with him in heaven
where there's no pain,not tears,no sufferings,only joy and happiness
P/S :many non-believers refuse to believe in Christ on the grounds that our God cannot be seen
or held, unlike the Buddhist and Hindus they have idols and stuff.
yes we seem abstract and we don't have something concrete like them but we have the
B-I-B-L-E.God's words are all in it.
Jesus wants us to believe with our hearts,to have faith and trust! not by sight with eyes
that's why Christians can have an intimate relationship with God.
